FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can I schedule an appt?

I am not accepting new patients for therapy at this time. Please contact me here if you would like to inquire about a waitlist. I try my hardest to respond to emails but cannot guarantee a response at this time. Check back for updates and announcements regarding future availability and upcoming workshops!

Do you take therapy clients from out of state?

Currently, I am licensed to practice therapy with NV residents only.

What can I expect to happen in a therapy session?

Standard sessions are 50 min in length. I spend the first 1-3 three sessions really getting to know you well, gathering history, and creating space for you to freely express whatever it is that you want to address. I jokingly (and lovingly) refer to this as your process of "opening up the closet and dumping it all out". Patients often ask if they are "rambling" or "making any sense" as they begin to open up. I love to reassure you that you are! Dump it all. I will help you get sorted it as we go.

My sessions follow a general pattern: 1) getting to know you (in clinical jargon we call this gathering your biopsychosocial history), 2) assessing your concerns and developing a treatment plan that targets your concerns 3) mapping goals, and 4) working towards achieving those goals. This process is not always linear - change frequently comes with ups and downs - as you steadily progress upward towards your goals. With time and progress, we will recalibrate session frequency until you are ready to terminate treatment. My job, as ironic as it may seem, is to get you (and anyone else involved with you in treatment) to no longer be in need of my services! However, I remind my patients that my door is always open should you be in need of checking back in.

May I include family members in my therapy sessions?

Absolutely! I welcome any and all of the relevant persons in your life's story. If you want someone to join your sessions, we will first discuss the nature and limits of confidentiality in your sessions and examine options for how to structure sessions moving forward. Any additional persons will be provided with informed consent treatment paperwork to complete prior to sessions.

How much do you charge?

Rate is $200 per hour. I do not accept insurance at this time.
